AFX ULTRA 5 Patent: Details operation of the pre 1977 track system slight changes occured for 1977 production. basic operation remained the same for 1978
AFX SPEEDSTEER Patent : Notable change to original design was the front worm gear addition originally it used a slipping sleeve like the tyco TCR, in the document the design was changed to the worm gear because of the loss of control the slipping sleeve caused. Tyco later owned these patents and changed the system to use the command control sleeve which was inferior and AFX knew it.
